Caio Borralho Expects Mauricio Ruffy to Crush Bobby Green, Vie for Title in 2026

Caio Borralho has the utmost of confidence in his teammates at the Fighting Nerds.

Borralho will be in the corner of Mauricio Ruffy on Saturday, who will be squaring off with Bobby Green on the UFC 313 main card. Their burgeoning fight camp has been exploding with talent, with a number of impressive names on its roster including Carlos Prates, Jean Silva, Bruna Brasil and the aforementioned Borralho and Ruffy. The middleweight contender discussed his teammate Ruffy with Sherdog on Thursday, where he believes that no matter how it turns out, Ruffy vs. Green will end before the final bell.

“TKO by Ruffy in the second round,” Borralho prognosticated. “Key point for him is not to get frustrated if he misses some punches, but I truly believe he is better than Green everywhere.”

The belief in one another in the Fighting Nerds stable is high as can be given the recent success by its members currently competing in the UFC. Borralho had high praise for Ruffy in particular, who he sees as a massive talent.

“Ruffy is one of the most talented guys I’ve ever trained with, and I’m not concerning only Fighting Nerds,” Borralho remarked. This guy is truly different.”

The Sao Paulo native Ruffy was signed to the organization by demolishing Raimond Magomedaliev on the ninth week of Dana White’s Contender Series’ 2023 season. With that pairing a classic Brazil vs. Dagestan dynamic, Borralho thinks that Ruffy’s beating of a top training partner of fighters like Islam Makhachev put him on the map. As long as Ruffy keeps winning dramatically, Borralho predicts he will be fast-tracked to a championship opportunity.

“The fans love the storyline [between Brazil and Dagestan] and Ruffy naturally created that after accepting a short-notice call to fight in the [welterweight] division against one of the best training partners of Makhachev and got a win via TKO. Besides being a striking talent, Ruffy has one of the best takedown defenses I’ve ever seen. I truly believe he will be [fighting for] the belt [by] the end of 2026,” “The Natural” concluded.
